Relative: Being Eurasian

VIRTUAL EXHIBITION

This PhD examination exhibition was to be installed at RMIT Site 8 Gallery. Below are artistic renditions of the installation, created as four images that allow you to view the space from four different viewpoints moving around the gallery space in a clockwise direction. A list of works included is at the end. The exhibition works presented here have been curated into two sections. The first section present works from three bodies of work that explore self portraiture, the Eurasian body, gestures, associations and beauty. The second section draws together an episodic and narrative led journey for the viewer by presenting an immersive hanging and installation of artistic works that explore notions of family, the family album, hybrid spaces and migration.

IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This image depicts the exhibition from the view point of standing in Site 8 gallery, looking into the south western corner. The entry doors can be seen on the far left. The exhibition works presented along this corner reveal works that explore cultural identity through self portraiture and place, as well as notions of Eurasian beauty and the body.
